The Gyldjar is the container that holds Gyldenblod collected during a raid. It is not another currency: you spend Gyldenblod, while you manage the Gyldjar’s capacity.

The reviewed item-database description identifies Gyldjar as the container used to store Gyldenblod. A full Gyldjar therefore means the container has reached its limit, not that you have found a resource called “Gyldjar.”
How does Gyldjar capacity work?
Gyldenblod collected during a raid goes into the Gyldjar. One reviewed guide reports a starting capacity of 200. Once the container is full, it cannot receive more raid Gyldenblod until you leave and begin another run.
Upgrade the Gyldenblod Pool at Windrest Camp to raise the cap. Third-party guides agree on that relationship but disagree about exact level breakpoints, character-slot unlocks, and upgrade costs. This page therefore does not publish a level-by-level table that the available evidence cannot support.

When should a full Gyldjar trigger extraction?
A full jar is a strong exit signal because additional currency drops cannot increase that part of the haul. Staying can still produce equipment or materials, but all carried value remains exposed until extraction.
Leave earlier when you have an item you need for camp progression or a piece of gear worth selling. The cap is a decision point, not a target you must reach on every run.
What happens to the Gyldjar on death?
You keep the Gyldjar as a system item, but lose the raid Gyldenblod it was carrying if you die before extraction. Currency already secured outside the raid is separate from that carried haul.
This is why a larger capacity does not automatically mean a more profitable run. The upgrade creates room to carry more, but you still have to extract it.
What do Gyldjar cosmetic unlocks change?
Gyldjar icon skins change the container’s appearance. They do not expand capacity, create another currency, or add a combat stat.
