Mistfall Hunter Fungus Matron: Stationary Elite Guide
What the Fungus Matron is, where it sits in Brandrgarde, its 50% block rate and awareness profile, its long-range Impact attacks, and the loot pool it rolls.
The Fungus Matron is a stationary elite found only in Brandrgarde. Two guide sites call it a boss, two databases call it an elite, and all of them agree it does not move. The collected data is strongest on its spawn areas, its awareness and block values, and the unusually long reach of its attacks.
Is the Fungus Matron a boss?
The tier label splits by source type. mistfallhunterguide.org calls the Matron a Boss enemy, one of the creatures that spawn in the Gyldenmist, and mistfallhunter.guide also files it as Tier Boss. MistfallDB lists it in the Elites band, and WikiTactics keeps it in the general bestiary. No source calls it a Mist Lord, so it is not one of the three set-piece fights on the all bosses hub.
What every source agrees on is that it is stationary. MistfallDB tags the entry “Stationary”, mistfallhunter.guide calls it “a boss stationary enemy” and lists Mobile: Stationary, and its max chase time is a single second.
Where can the Fungus Matron spawn?
WikiTactics records eight markers, all in Brandrgarde and none in Hallowgrove. No second source names a specific area, so every row below rests on the one map.
| Map | Named areas (marker count) |
|---|---|
| Brandrgarde North | Outpost (3); Fungal Beast Cave (2) |
| Brandrgarde South | Ritual Vault (2); Sacred Chamber (1) |
Fungal Beast Cave is also one of the three North areas listed for the Twinblade Warrior Statue, so the two can be expected in the same part of the map. The map guide covers both halves.
What are the Fungus Matron’s stats?
MistfallDB gives a health span of 1,077 to 3,288 and an attack span of 213 to 349 with defence 705, and counts 22 attack moves. WikiTactics’ Cataclysm Trio row matches the top of both spans exactly. mistfallhunter.guide adds a profile no other elite page here has: a 50% block rate and a set of awareness values.
| Source | Mode | Health | Attack | Defense | Toughness | XP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MistfallDB | Normal solo to Cataclysm squad | 1,077–3,288 | 213–349 | 705 | not listed | not listed |
| WikiTactics | Brandrgarde Cataclysm Trio | 3,288 | 349 | 705 | 724 | 26 |
The awareness profile reads: sight range 832, vision cone 70°, hearing range 350, engage range 640, max chase 2,000, max chase time 1 s, lose-sight time 3 s, plus 3 on-hit reactions and 2 provokes. The site does not state the units, so compare them with other entries on the same site rather than treating them as metres.
What attacks does the Fungus Matron use?
Reach is the Matron’s defining trait in the data. WikiTactics’ table has ten extracted rows, fewer than the 22 moves counted elsewhere, so it is incomplete, but the rows it does show are long. Special attack 2 and its two “Around” variants open with an Impact 5 hit and reach 0-18 m on a 10-second cooldown. Special attack 6, in Variants A and B, carries Impact 4 out to 0-22 m, also on 10 seconds. Special attack 12 is the one move with a minimum range, 7.5-20 m, while Special attack 1 Left and Right and Special attack 11 stay within 5 m. A “Battle entrance 2” move with a 5-second animation is listed as well.
Every hit is marked guard-breaking, which matches the Matron’s own 50% block rate: the data suggests it blocks you more reliably than you block it. No damage values or tells are given, so the boss fight guide remains the source for general positioning.
What does the Fungus Matron drop?
WikiTactics assigns the Matron to the Shared Enemy Drop Table, a pool of 107 item chances, the same pool it records for Strawer Chief and the Brandrgarde Captain. No source lists a unique item or a guaranteed rarity.
