Mistfall Hunter Foul Hound Alpha: Locations, Stats & Moves
Where the Foul Hound Alpha spawns on all three maps, the chests it is said to guard, its scaled stats and 6 m/s chase speed, its six fast moves, and its loot.
The Foul Hound Alpha is the lightest named elite in the collected material and the most widely distributed: map data places it on all three maps, and one source says it is often found guarding chests. The evidence is strongest on where it appears and how fast it moves; no source describes fighting it.
Is the Foul Hound Alpha a boss?
No. GamerGuides files it as a Minor Elite, a tier it describes as stronger than Normal enemies and often found guarding chests in Enriched Resource Zones. MistfallDB lists it in the Elites band and WikiTactics keeps it in the general bestiary. Its listed health ceiling of 1,108 is the lowest of any elite on the all bosses hub, roughly a third of Strawer Chief’s.
Where can the Foul Hound Alpha spawn?
WikiTactics records twenty-six markers across Brandrgarde North, Brandrgarde South and Hallowgrove. GamerGuides separately names the Outskirts, the Graveyard and the Warden’s Quarters, but none of those three names appears in the WikiTactics lists and GamerGuides does not say which map each belongs to, so the two sources cannot be merged into one table.
| Map | Named areas (marker count) |
|---|---|
| Brandrgarde North | The Forge (3); Battle Ruins (2); Abandoned Furnace, East Hall, Heroes’ Rest (1 each) |
| Brandrgarde South | Velgr Passage (2); Witchery Woods (2); Brandrgarde Pathway, Sacred Chamber (1 each) |
| Hallowgrove | Other locations (6); Demigod Coast (3); Gravekeeper’s Hut (2); Soul Beacon (1) |
Hallowgrove holds the most markers, twelve, though half of them are unnamed. For the Hallowgrove layout see the Hallowgrove map.
What are the Foul Hound Alpha’s stats?
MistfallDB gives a health span of 462 to 1,108 and an attack span of 132 to 236 with defence 705, and counts 6 attack moves. WikiTactics’ Cataclysm Trio row matches the top of both spans and adds a chase speed of 6 m/s, the joint-fastest in the collected material alongside the Brandrgarde Captain.
| Source | Mode | Health | Attack | Defense | Toughness | XP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MistfallDB | Normal solo to Cataclysm squad | 462–1,108 | 132–236 | 705 | not listed | not listed |
| WikiTactics | Brandrgarde Cataclysm Trio | 1,108 | 236 | 705 | 382 | 16 |
Both sources are third-party extractions and either can change with a patch.
What attacks does the Foul Hound Alpha use?
Both sources agree on six moves, and WikiTactics’ table shows all six: every hit is guard-breaking, and the animations are short, between 2.35 and 4.1 seconds. Special attack 3 is an Attack / Counter that lands four hits over 3-10 m, and Special attack 10 lands three hits over 1-10 m. Special attack 2 is the only move confined to 0-1.5 m; the others start at 1-3 m and reach 4-10 m.
The picture the data supports is a fast, closing enemy with quick multi-hit lunges rather than long wind-ups. It does not support more than that: no row carries a damage value or a tell. The boss fight guide covers general preparation.
What does the Foul Hound Alpha drop?
WikiTactics assigns the Alpha to the Mini-Elite Enemy Drop Table, a pool of 123 item chances, a different pool from the Shared and Big Elite tables the heavier elites roll. GamerGuides’ note about guarding chests in Enriched Resource Zones is the only loot-adjacent detail from a second source, and it concerns the chest, not the Alpha’s own drops.
