Mistfall Hunter Character Creation & Skins Guide
Create your Mistfall Hunter character, reset appearance at the Gyldenblod Pool, use outfits from the Wardrobe, and understand skin visibility.
Mistfall Hunter separates customization into three systems: the physical character editor, the class attached to a character, and cosmetic outfits applied through the Wardrobe. You can revisit your appearance after creation, so a face or hairstyle choice does not require deleting your progress.
How character creation works
Your first major choice is a class, which controls combat tools rather than facial options. If you are still deciding, compare the published class build guides by playstyle rather than choosing only by the armor shown in the creator.
The reviewed launch editor includes:
- base face and body presets;
- complexion, skin tone, and skin texture;
- hairstyles and hair colors;
- eye colors and eye styles;
- facial and lip makeup;
- tattoos and scars.
Choose the closest base preset before refining small details. Some facial structure and beard combinations appear tied to the starting face, so sliders may not turn a distant preset into the exact design you wanted.
Appearance is character-specific. Your warehouse, account currency, tasks, and Auction House activity are shared across characters, while each character keeps its own appearance, class, and level. Additional character slots come from upgrading the Gyldenblod Pool.
How to change appearance after character creation
Use Appearance Reset at the Gyldenblod Pool in Windrest Camp. The Pool is the circular structure directly in front of Dew; the appearance option belongs to the structure, not Dew’s normal conversation menu.
- Finish the opening progression and return to Windrest Camp.
- Walk to the Gyldenblod Pool in front of Dew.
- Interact with the Pool and choose Appearance Reset.
- Reopen the physical editor and adjust the available character settings.
- Review the displayed Gyldenblod cost, then confirm the new design.
Launch-period reports put the reset at 1,000 Gyldenblod, but always trust the confirmation prompt in your current client before spending. The reset edits the existing character: it does not remove equipment, lower your level, change your class, or reset task progress.
Current field reports say the reset reopens the full creator, including body type and gender as well as face, hair, and makeup. A name change is separate; the profile screen has been reported to charge 500 Gyldenblod for a rename.

Why the Appearance Reset option may be missing
Try these checks if the Pool only shows upgrade information or no appearance prompt:
- complete the tutorial and early camp introductions first;
- make sure you are in Windrest Camp, not inside an expedition;
- move around the edge of the Pool until its interaction prompt appears;
- interact with the Pool itself instead of speaking to Dew;
- restart the game if the camp interface failed to load correctly.
The editor also requires enough Gyldenblod to confirm the change. Opening it does not mean the redesign has already been purchased.

Creating another character is usually the cleaner way to maintain a roster of different classes. Swapping an existing character’s class can cost Gyldenblod and start a cooldown, while switching between characters you already own is immediate. New characters begin at level 1 unless you later use the Pool’s progression systems.
How to equip skins and outfits
Open the Wardrobe to browse unlocked outfits and apply their appearance. The collected outfit guide describes the sets as cross-class, so an unlocked outfit is not limited to the class that first claimed it.
Outfits are cosmetic. They change the rendered look of equipped armor without adding combat stats. Weapon appearances, poses, emotes, portraits, frames, and Gyldjar icons are related cosmetic systems rather than full character outfits.

Mall inventory, event windows, and seasonal rewards can change. Verify a skin’s live unlock text before spending Soul Coins or grinding an old event route.
Who can see your skin?
Visibility depends on the cosmetic. A Mistfall Hunter developer clarified that not every skin follows the same rule: some are visible only to you and your teammates, while other appearances may also render for enemy players.
This distinction protects combat readability when visible equipment communicates an opponent’s gear. Check the outfit description or visibility notice for the specific skin instead of assuming one global rule. A skin that teammates can see is still cosmetic and does not hide your underlying item stats from the game.
