Hallowgrove is Mistfall Hunter’s lower-intensity hunting ground, but it is not a safe farming instance. Its marked tasks, guarded containers, key rooms, and central Divine Anchor pull PvE and PvP traffic into the same route. A practical plan is to work from your spawn toward the northern objectives, delay the central hotspot until your inventory justifies the risk, and begin the Returning Chime extraction before the Gyldenmist collapses.

What should you know before entering Hallowgrove?

Hallowgrove has two verified difficulty tiers. The current map reference and the August route source agree on the main queue limits:

TierIntensityGear capClearance requirementRoute implication
Normal1ExcellentNone listedBest place to learn the quadrants, task markers, chime sequence, and exits without the Chaos entry requirement
Chaos4Holy800Stronger enemies and richer opportunities increase the cost of a noisy or overextended route

Check the live queue screen before gearing around those values. Patch-sensitive loot rates, enemy spawns, and item prices are not fixed in this guide.

Which landmarks matter for route planning?

The broad shape is more useful than a memorized coordinate. Legacy Gaming describes a corrupted valley through the middle, Norse structures in the northwest, rural woods and winding paths in the northeast, a craggy Lizardfolk area in the southeast, and undead around castle ramparts in the southwest.

The detailed route source identifies these decision points:

  • Supreme Hall in the north is associated with the Elite Berserker, several exploration tasks, guarded loot, and nearby gold-marked resource areas.
  • Einherjar Ship Grave sits on the northern route and includes an underground guarded-loot area. The Watchtower side is also described as a useful key stop.
  • Divine Anchor occupies the central convergence and leads to the Salmar encounter. Multiple approaches make it difficult to secure, so it is a late-route option rather than a mandatory first stop.
  • Abandoned Market and Refugee Camp are among the regions where the roaming merchant Richie may appear. His exact position is not guaranteed.
  • Returning Chimes start the standard escape sequence after they become available; their importance rises sharply as the final Gyldenmist warning approaches.

This page deliberately uses landmark names instead of guessed coordinates. The collected map image belongs to a third-party publisher and no reuse permission was provided, so it is linked through the source rather than copied here.

What is a practical Hallowgrove route?

There is no one route from every spawn. The counter-clockwise farming pattern in GameRant’s August 3 guide is best treated as a decision framework:

  1. Orient before committing. Check the nearest task markers, your position relative to the northern landmarks, and whether a gold-outlined resource area forces you through an exposed crossing.
  2. Use the outside regions to build value. Complete a nearby exploration task and take ordinary containers or marked enemies that do not require a long, noisy fight. Favorite needed camp materials before queuing so they are easy to identify.
  3. Rotate toward Supreme Hall and Einherjar Ship Grave. These northern areas combine tasks and guarded loot. At a locked chest, defeat every enemy carrying the purple marker; interacting with the still-locked chest can point toward a remaining target, according to Legacy Gaming’s post-release tips.
  4. Use keys selectively. A key can survive death in the keychain and has multiple uses, but the same Hallowgrove door consumes more durability on Chaos than on Normal according to the source. Do not spend a valuable charge automatically just because a room is nearby.
  5. Treat Divine Anchor as optional. Cross the center or contest Salmar only when your health, supplies, escape time, and appetite for PvP still support it. A valuable inventory is a reason to leave, not a reason to add one more fight.
  6. Move to a chime before the final collapse. Starting the sequence early leaves time to deal with the summoned enemy and any player who follows the public extraction cue.

This route prioritizes repeatable decisions over a promised loot total. Chest contents, elites, merchant positions, and nearby players can vary between runs.

How does Hallowgrove extraction work?

Hallowgrove’s Gyldenmist behaves differently from Brandrgarde’s phased contraction. The launch guide describes a long initial window followed by a rapid map-wide collapse.

For the standard escape:

  1. Find an available Returning Chime after the chimes have appeared.
  2. Interact with it. Butterflies travel toward a nearby location and begin the Woodling sequence.
  3. Wait for and defeat the Returner Woodling.
  4. Interact with the defeated Woodling and complete the escape channel.

Other players can be warned that a chime is being rung, so heal, reload supplies, and check approach paths before starting. A chime is an extraction opportunity, not a protected zone. If your route has already paid off, leaving on an earlier workable chime is usually safer than waiting for an ideal final stop.

The current map legend lists additional extraction-related markers, including Soul Trees and Smuggler Woodlings. Their rules and availability differ, so do not assume every extraction carries a full inventory or follows the Returning Chime sequence.

What are the main hazards?

  • Central traffic: Divine Anchor connects several routes and becomes a natural ambush and third-party location.
  • Guarded-loot noise: elite and chest fights advertise that a player is occupied, especially when an enemy takes time to find or finish.
  • Chaos overconfidence: the higher tier permits stronger gear but also raises enemy pressure and the cost of a lost loadout.
  • Extraction attention: a public chime action can draw players who would rather take a packed inventory than farm their own.
  • Route fixation: a merchant, enemy, or chest from a previous run may not be in the same state on the next one.
