Find the Greataxe Berserker in Hallowgrove, identify its Elite Berserker map marker, survive the barrier fight, and understand its rewards.
The Greataxe Berserker is an early objective in the Tracking the Treasure task. The confusing part is its name: the objective calls it the Greataxe Berserker, while the Hallowgrove map labels the target Elite Berserker. Those names refer to the same axe-wielding enemy.
Where is the Greataxe Berserker?
Search the named points of interest in Hallowgrove and mark the Elite Berserker icon on your in-game map. The collected field report found the target around Verdant Grounds and Supreme Hall in some raids, then fought it at Divine Anchor in another. That variation means there is no single guaranteed building to visit on every run.
The target appears inside a structure. Red symbols on closed doors and red energy across open entrances identify its arena. If the Elite Berserker is not at the first point of interest you check, continue through the other named locations rather than waiting at one supposed fixed spawn.
Why does the fight reset?
Damaging the Berserker activates a Protection Barrier around the structure. You can move around inside that boundary to heal or create space, but crossing it resets the enemy’s health.
Check the room before landing the first hit. Learn where the doors, obstacles, and any useful movement options are while the barrier is still inactive. Starting the fight without understanding the arena can leave you trapped in a poor position against attacks that remove a large portion of your health.
How to beat the Greataxe Berserker
Treat this as a defensive endurance fight. The Berserker’s individual hits are much more dangerous than the damage most early characters can deal in one opening, so survival matters more than extending a combo.
- Complete easier tasks and extract better equipment before challenging it if your current gear feels weak.
- Bring several healing items and place them where you can use them quickly.
- Stay mobile, wait for a committed axe attack, and punish the recovery with a short sequence.
- Keep enough stamina or movement resources to disengage instead of spending everything on damage.
- Retreat within the arena when you need to heal, but never cross the Protection Barrier.
The dedicated source estimates that three or four clean Berserker hits can kill an underprepared character. That makes repeated safe punishes more reliable than trading damage. A resurrection may preserve the encounter if another player is still fighting, but it is a contingency rather than a strategy you should build around.
Should you fight it with a team?
Bringing another player makes the encounter more forgiving. Teammates can alternate the Berserker’s attention, creating time to heal or set up attacks without abandoning the arena. A solo clear is possible, but it leaves every attack and recovery focused on one target.
Remember that nearby players can also reach the dropped items. The available field report describes a random participant joining the fight and taking part of the reward pile, so collect what you need promptly after the kill.
Greataxe Berserker rewards
The reward pool is randomized rather than a fixed checklist. The documented clear produced Gyldenblod, equipment, and higher-value construction and forging materials. Its identified rewards included an epic forging material and a legendary construction material, but that single clear does not establish guaranteed item names or rarities for every kill.
Farm the Greataxe Berserker for a chance at valuable progression materials, not for one proven exclusive drop. The exact items can change between clears, and loot on the ground may effectively be shared when other players participate.
